THAT PLACE - Staff
Ballarat Learning eXchange (BLX) and Highlands Local Learning and Employment Network (LLEN) are excited to welcome Dianna Anderson & Deb Hart as the new team to “THAT PLACE” in 2007.
Dianna and Deb bring with them an abundance of enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of services available to support young people’s transition into education, further training such as TAFE & University courses, work experience, apprenticeships & traineeships and employment.
Dianna joined the LLEN team as Project Co-ordinator of “THAT PLACE” in June 2007.
For twenty-two years Dianna lived on a family farm in North Western Victoria. During this time Dianna was involved in Local, State and National industry and community projects.
In 2001 Dianna completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Rural Management) through external studies at the
Dianna has enjoyed working with young people at TAFE in Apprenticeships, VET programs and most recently at
Deb worked in the medical field (radiology) mostly, then became an integration aide in various local primary schools and in 2002, with much encouragement from the principal at the school she was based in at the time, applied for and was accepted into the Bachelor of Education course (P-10) at UB as a mature aged student.
Deb graduated in 2005, however grad spots were hard to secure and Deb ended up working for IBM until June this year in the Westpac Corporate call centre and was involved in the EXCITE program last year.
Deb has done some Casual Relief Teaching across Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh areas, and hopes to continue picking up a day here and there.
Working with integration students has made Deb passionate about placing kids of all capabilities and backgrounds into worthwhile activities and classes. It’d be nice to think they all might stay at school until Year 12, but the reality is they might not, and I think it is important each person has every opportunity to secure a future in an industry, course or somewhere that will stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives. That Place has a good ‘feel’ about it…the people who work here are clearly passionate about their work. Deb hopes to learn more and to be able to contribute in some small measure to the success of the projects incorporated in the HLLEN.
Dianna & Deb can assist you in exploring your areas of interest and skill, to help you take the initial steps in constructing a meaningful pathway of your choice.
Once your pathway has been developed, they can help you put your plan into action whilst providing ongoing support.
Dianna’s & Deb’s naturally outgoing & friendly manner make “THAT PLACE” a welcoming and enjoyable place to be.
Why not come and visit the team in their bright and inviting space?
