The studio is intended to provide access to advanced technology appropriate for training in the fields of music industry technology and film and video production and broadcast, web publishing and broadcasting.
In particular, the purpose of the film and video component of the studio is as follows:
- To support secondary and VET students undertaking VCE and VET studies in video and film technology and production
- To provide a facility for local video, film and television producers to undertake training in recording and production and to create broadcast quality programs
- To provide a venue for film/video industry training and workshops
